Don’t Forget to “Spring Forward”
This weekend is the second weekend in March. That means it is time to change our clocks one hour and “spring forward”.
Officially at 2:00 am this Sunday morning, March 11th, 2018, we turn our clocks AHEAD one hour — to 3:00 am — and we begin Daylight Saving Time. That means we lose an hour of sleep this weekend, but the sun will be setting an hour later in the evening starting Sunday! (We will turn the clocks back one hour — “fall back” — on Sunday, November 4th, 2018)
If you want to learn more about why we change our clocks in the spring and fall, here is the history of Daylight Saving Time in the United States.
Along with changing your clocks, High Performance Cleaning recommends that you also check the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Even if you have “hard wired” smoke detectors, they usually have a battery backup. It’s a good idea to check the batteries in your detectors twice a year. If you do it the same time you change your clocks — you can easily remember when to do it.
In the spring when we change our clocks it is a sure sign that spring is just around the corner. Soon the snow will be gone, the grass will be greening up and the leaves will reappear on the trees. That means it is time to start thinking about maintaining the exterior of your home. High Performance Cleaning offers several different exterior cleaning services, including roof washing, window cleaning, siding wash, gutter cleaning, fence and deck refinishing, and also concrete cleaning.
